For the past two weeks Maisie Ingram, a student at the Glasgow School of Art, has been staying in the cabin as our first artist-in-residence.
The painting above is one of her watercolours painted in our temperate rainforest at Ferry Wood. We are full of appreciation for what she has accomplished.
The oak pictured is a Sessile oak (Quercus petrea), a species incredibly well adapted to our stormy Atlantic-facing coast. Its limbs twist about, searching shelter and light.
